Overall, a great knife!

I am an oboist, and I was first introduced to this knife as a means of scraping reeds. For my needs, it is quite optimal, it is a soft edge that allows for precision scraping in addition to being easy to sharpen.

In the likelihood that one is not looking to purchase this knife for reedmaking, the handle is sturdy and fits well in the hand. The blade itself is very consistent and easy to resharpen, and is the perfect length to give one plenty of blade to work with without sacrificing control.

My one complaint about this knife is that it doesn't hold its edge for a very long time, as a result of the soft metal. Because I need maximum sharpness for proper reeds, I spend a good amount of time resharpening. However, it is a small price to pay for a great knife, and overall it is a knife VERY well worth the price; I highly recommend it.
